Who are Addictions UK?

We use medically qualified staff located throughout the UK who are supported by accredited counsellors

Addictions UK was established by a group of recovering addicts, alcoholics and carers in 2002. Our aim and purpose is to bring recovery to others, especially by means of home-based treatment.

All our programmes are abstinence-based. Most do not require residential rehabilitation and so allow clients to continue their usual activities while finding the route to normal living.

The range of our services is very wide and does include arrangements for Residential Rehab for clients to whom we recommend it. We also offer other opportunities for recovery and growth such as learning and spiritual journeys overseas.

We also offer training and employers’ support

We think better education around addiction and how to manage it is of the utmost importance.

We offer a suite of training courses over at Addictions Training which are intended for use by practitioners and carers in addiction therapy and mental health.

The training courses are affordable, flexible and accredited by the Open College Network to levels three and four.

They’re the perfect launchpad for a career in addiction and mental health, and many of the people we have helped overcome addiction have gone on to take our courses and transition into this career path.

We also offer employers’ support services to provide guidance to HR departments when dealing with employees with addiction issues.

Dan’s Story🫶

Hi, my name is Dan, I’m 38 from Newcastle, Im 30 days clean and sober of all mind altering substances. I’ve been in addiction since I was around 12, looking back I can now say I was an alcoholic and a drug addict because once I started I couldn’t stop, I was trying to block out my pain. I’ve had various struggles throughout my life including abuse, homelessness, witnessing my loved ones dying and been in and out of prison. After doing a year in prison I was put into Addictions North East and I can’t thank them enough for there ongoing support, they have gave me a fresh start and a safe place to grow, heal and become a better version of myself. I have friends that want nothing but the best for me and I am rebuilding my life from the ground up, I’m now starting to become a productive member of society. Thankyou Addictions North East and the c.a fellowship.

Dan has now gone beyond the 30-day milestone by an extra couple of days since he shared his story with us and continues to grow stronger every day 💪 We’re all proud to see him keep pushing forward.
